Cristiano Renzo Carli was born on 30th August 1931 in Venice, Carpenedo. He graduated as a Master of Art at the State Art Institute "P. Selvatico" in Padua. He attended the art studies of the School of Nude at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice under the guidance of Masters Gastone Breddo and Luciano Gaspari; then he completed his academic studies with Master Bruno Saetti for whom he worked as an assistant in some works of fresco and mosaic. He teamed up with the staff of Venini furnace in Murano focusing on the glass art research and realized an important window on a cardboard by Saetti for the church of San Domenico in Siena. He has been engaged in numerous national and international exhibitions  since 1955, receiving several awards. He was ranked first for teaching at the Free School of Nude at the Academy of Venice in 1968. In 1968 he moved to Verona, where he held the office of assistant to Master Guido Trentini at the Academy of Fine Arts "Cignaroli" in Verona for two years; in the following years he held the office of Professor of mosaic at the same Academy of  Fine Arts in Verona for three years. He was Professor of painting disciplines at the State Art School in Verona from 1968 to 2000 holding the office of Headmaster in the art schools of Treviso, Bologna and Padua for some years. He directed the course of mosaic art at the school of mosaic in S. Ambrogio di Valpolicella in Verona from 1996 to 2001. He has been living in Sommacampagna in the province of Verona since 1994.

He performed two important mosaics in the two gables of the entrance gates of the Archpriest Church of St. Gervasio and St. Protasio di Venezia Carpenedo.
